Most people think happiness comes from success, money, or recognition. But the truth is simpler:
Happiness comes from having a purpose—something meaningful enough to wake you up before the alarm.
Purpose is not accidental.
You build it.
And the starting point is this:
Find something you naturally care about… and then find a way to get paid to do it.
My Journey: Purpose Through Business
I have always been fascinated by business—not just the profit, but the impact.
When done right, business is one of the greatest forces for good:
- It improves lives through the products and services it offers.
- It creates employment, giving families stability and dignity.
- It strengthens communities through taxes and local investment.
My first business was simple: growing and selling tomatoes.
It was seasonal, unpredictable, and full of challenges. But it taught me one of the greatest lessons of my life:
Being a producer—someone who creates value—gives you pride, confidence, and purpose.
I felt good knowing my tomatoes would feed families in my community.
That feeling never left.
Since then, I’ve started many businesses.
Some succeeded.
Most failed.
But every one of them taught me something.
And through all the wins and the losses, one lesson has guided me consistently:
“Always do what is right.”
Do what is right for your customers.
Do what is right for your employees.
Do what is right even when no one is watching.
When you operate from a place of integrity, you gain something money can’t buy:
You sleep well at night.
You stand tall.
You build trust.
You build a legacy.
Purpose Is Created Through Action
You don’t find purpose in a book or a quote.
You discover it by doing—by trying, failing, learning, and growing.
Purpose is the feeling that what you do matters.
And purpose becomes happiness when:
- You align your work with your values,
- You use your strengths to serve others, and
- You choose the path that lets you say, “I did the right thing today.”
Final Thought
If you want a meaningful life, don’t chase happiness.
Chase purpose.
Happiness will follow you.
